Vigna Traverso originated out of Giancarlo Traverso’s passion for Colli Orientali wines. A wine producer in the Piave area together with his wife Ornella Molon, Giancarlo started travelling at the end of the 1980s to get to know other wineries, territories and techniques; in 1998 he returned to Friuli and bought six hectares of vineyards in Prepotto.
His passion was soon passed on to his son Stefano, an enologist who joined the winery’s staff.
Twenty years after its foundation, Vigna Traverso is now one of the leading wineries in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, and numerous national and international wine guides have recognised the quality and personality of its wines.
